Biography

Stephen is one of Scotland's best known broadcasters and journalists. He started his career in local radio before becoming a trainee reporter with STV. He then joined GMTV as Scotland Correspondent before becoming Europe Correspondent, based in Paris.

In 2000 Stephen returned to STV to present a range of documentaries and current affairs programmes including the flagship news show Scotland Today. His work earned him a Royal Television Society Award.

Stephen now presents Debate Night on BBC Scotland and his own programme on BBC Radio Scotland. He also writes for The Scotsman and The Times and hosts some of Scotland's most high profile events.
